Casa Dante

A Two-Storey Residence

Located in Baclayon, Bohol, this two-storey residence sits on an expansive lot with uninterrupted views of the sea. Arrival is marked by a covered driveway leading to a restrained entrance. As one steps inside, the living area opens immediately to the horizon—framing the sea as a constant backdrop to everyday life.
The architecture is guided by clarity and restraint. Simple geometric massing gives the home presence across the wide site without overwhelming it. The building reads as a quiet, grounded form—raw in nature and composed through proportion, scale, and spatial rhythm.
The ground floor follows an open plan that connects living, dining, and kitchen spaces into one continuous volume. Above, the second floor is arranged around a central double-height opening that draws in natural light and creates a sense of spatial generosity throughout the house.
Massing is shaped not only for function, but to create moments of pause—pockets of landscaping and canopy-covered transitions that expand the interior outward and provide relief from sun and rain. These carved-out spaces soften the architecture and support the overall openness of the design.
Every major room is oriented toward the sea. Openings are deliberate, framing views while managing light and privacy. The house celebrates simplicity not only in its form, but in how it holds space—quiet, clear, and built to endure beyond trends.
